Terah Wine Co.
Central Coast AVA, California, USA
A native Californian, Terah refined her unique style and found her love of wine by way of food and from her travels across the globe. She started her professional career in the hospitality industry studying at the International Culinary Institute in California. She then spent time working in wine bars, a Michelin-starred restaurant, wine education, and consulting in the Bay Area.
Terah ambitiously immersed herself into the international world of wine, studying Enology and Viticulture in both Spain and France. She completed 13 harvests covering five countries
"Terah Wine Co. practices minimal intervention in the cellar. Specifically, we want to maintain varietal typicity and vineyard expression in the finished product. For example, sulfur which is a naturally occurring by-product of fermentation is used minimally for stabilization purposes. We utilize science, personal experience, and intuition continuously in practice. Hand made in small batches, often with trials and experimentation. The goal is to push boundaries in an effort to consistently improve, excel, and make more enjoyable wine!"
2022 TERAH WINE ROSÉThis rosé is a blend of 50% Syrah and 50% Grenache. It is sourced from Paicines Ranch which is located in the Central Coast AVA. A regenerative ranch that not only has a small vineyard that is CCOF-certified organic, but it also is a habitat for a diverse group of animals and food products. This impressive ranch provides grass feed beef, and sheep just to name a few things. The ranch's mission is to regenerate diverse ecosystems from the soil up. It's one of the most exciting new vineyards I am working with and the quality shows even in these young vines!
Vinification: Hand harvested, early to preserve freshness. The grapes were foot tread in the vineyard by the vineyard team and then gently pressed after about 2 hours of maceration for color. The wine was allowed to settle overnight followed by a racking the next day. Native yeast fermentation was conducted in stainless steel. After native malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged in stainless for 5 months before bottling. Unfinned and unfiltered expect some sediment.
Aromas of sweet strawberries, raspberries, and powdered sugar. On the palate, this wine is leaner than one might expect and driven by its minerality, juicy fruit and refreshing acidity.
Q&A
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada
Based in the Okanagan Valley, Q&A is a premium wine project by Hollywood actor and director Jason Priestley, Winemaker’s CUT proprietor Michal Mosny, and media personality and broadcaster Terry David Mulligan.
Ten years ago a couple from Slovakia, both winemakers, decided to move to Canada because of our show Hollywood and Vines. They opened a winery in the Okanagan and our paths were crossed forever. It was destiny.
Two years ago, we decided to put this beautiful story in a bottle. We started by questioning everything – the smallest decision, the most trivial detail – to try to create a wine that has every answer.
With over 50 years of combined industry experience, they started Q&A by questioning everything they know.
Q&A 2020 RED
45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot.
The 2020 vintage is elegant yet densely concentrated, with layers of fruit that continually evolve in the glass. Expressive aromas of midsummer Okanagan cherry and wild blackberry are seamlessly balanced by cloves and cedar, with a thoughtful, restrained use of oak that keeps the fruit the focus. Drinking beautifully now, the polished, fine-grained tannins and exceptional depth will reward careful cellaring over the next 10-15 years.
Food Pairings
Aged cheeses, especially those with a bit of funk, can also complement the wine's robustness and big flavours. Grilled strip steak, rib eye, lamb chops, stews or dishes with rich tomato-based sauces pair deliciously with this wine. Also, grilled salmon, tuna, roasted beef, lamb, veal, venison, squab, duck, mushrooms, and eggplant.
