Tasting Notes

A bold yet refined expression of 2021 Tinta Alta, this Tempranillo-led blend opens with dark cherry, blood orange, and a subtle lift of bay laurel. The palate is full-bodied and structured, layered with ripe red fruit, floral undertones, and vibrant energy. Smooth, juicy tannins carry the wine through a long, fresh finish, balancing richness with lift and precision.

Winemaker Notes

Aromas
Dark cherry, blood orange, and hints of bay laurel

Palate
Ripe red berries, floral notes, and a core of vibrant acidity
Full-bodied with firm structure and polished tannins

Finish
Long, fresh, and energetic with elegant lift

Winemaker Notes

100% destemmed Tempranillo fermented with native yeast in stainless steel open-top tanks. Gentle cap management (2–3 punch downs daily) over 18–21 days of skin contact ensures balance and extraction.

Pressed, settled for 48 hours, then racked to barrel for 22 months of élevage in 20% new French oak (Cadus, Orion, Taransaud).

Food Pairing Suggestions

Ideal with grilled lamb, BBQ short ribs, wood-fired vegetables, paella, or charcuterie boards. Also pairs beautifully with smoky, spice-driven dishes and aged Manchego-style cheeses.

Why We Love It

Tinta Alta 2021 captures the ambition of California Tempranillo at its most expressive—bringing together vineyard sites from the Sierra Nevada foothills to the Monterey coast. It’s structured yet lifted, powerful yet fresh, and built for both immediate enjoyment and cellar aging.

About Kascadia

North American wines, including those from Canada, the United States, and Mexico, have risen to the top of the list when it comes to the world's "new world" wines. These regions have rapidly established themselves as producers of exceptional quality and diverse varietals, challenging the long-held dominance of classic Old World wine regions like France, Italy, and Spain.

"The wine renaissance is here, and it spans from Napa to Niagara!" - VJ Gandhi
