Tasting Notes

This 2022 Lúuma Cabernet Sauvignon from Calistoga showcases the depth and richness Napa Valley is known for. Deep garnet in the glass, it opens with aromas of ripe blackberries, cassis, and graphite. The palate is lush and concentrated, with layers of dark cherry, espresso, and warm baking spices. Balanced tannins and a touch of vanilla from French oak aging add complexity and elegance.

Winemaker Notes

  • Long and structured, the finish lingers with notes of black tea, cedar, and a dusting of cocoa powder.

Pair this bold Calistoga Cabernet with:

  • Grilled ribeye steak with rosemary butter

  • Braised short ribs with polenta

  • Portobello mushroom burgers for a hearty vegetarian option

Why We Love It

The 2022 Lúuma Cabernet Sauvignon captures the essence of Calistoga’s sun-soaked vineyards. Grown in volcanic soils with excellent drainage, the grapes yield a wine of exceptional structure and purity. It’s a polished, expressive Napa Cab that drinks well now but will reward cellaring over the next 5–8 years. At this price point, it’s a rare find—premium quality without the premium price tag.

About Kascadia

North American wines, including those from Canada, the United States, and Mexico, have risen to the top of the list when it comes to the world's "new world" wines. These regions have rapidly established themselves as producers of exceptional quality and diverse varietals, challenging the long-held dominance of classic Old World wine regions like France, Italy, and Spain.
