VARIETAL: Cabernet Franc
REGION: Pentiction - Skaha Lake
BOTTLE SIZE: 750 mL
Savory and herbaceous aromas of olive, green pepper, smoke and mushrooms. Lively and bright on the palate with delicate, fine tannins and further fruit expression with flavours of cherry, eucalyptus and menthol.
The 2015 Cabernet Franc was aged 18 months in 30% new French oak. This is our 3rd vintage of a small lot Cabernet Franc. Just over 400 cases were produced in this vintage. This varietal has gained recognition both for Painted Rock and British Columbia, with famed Decanter Magazine including the Painted Rock Cabernet Franc in its pages three times in the first two vintages.
Richard Hemming, MW for www.jancisrobinson.com | "Like the 2014, this has stunning aromatic quality. Wonderfully pure and pristine and powerful. Expertly manicured tannin and the weight and fruit intensity holds up to the alcohol. Really charming youthfulness but should be cellared to allow the maturity to develop." 17+ Points
John Schreiner "This is a wine remarkable for its power (15.3% alcohol) and intensity of flavour. Aromas of cassis, blackberry and cherry bound from the glass, followed by a rich medley of red fruit on the palate, including cherry, blackberry and raspberry. The hint of mocha on the finish supports a lush texture." 93 Points
