Our family owned “Old Main Road Vineyard” is located on a terrace on the famed Naramata Bench, BC. The vineyard has a gentle northerly aspect with the soil comprised of alluvial deposits making up a silt loam overlaying a clay loam. The sixteen year old vineyard is planted 100% with Chardonnay vines. The northerly aspects of the vineyard cause the vines to slowly ripen the fruit producing a greater spectrum of flavor while still retaining a good level of acidity and minerality.
A long cool fermentation began in stainless steel vessels where it remained for the majority of the ferment. The must was then transferred to 100% French oak (22% new) to complete fermentation. The wine was left “sur lees” for 11 months without battonage. A natural malo-lactic fermentation occurred in late spring.

Anthony Gismondi: The fruit was hand harvested October 30th at 24 brix from the sixteen-year-old, silty/clay loamy Naramata-based Old Main Road Vineyard that faces north. Only the finest, purest free run juice is used here. The attack is light and juicy with rich, nutty, leesy, honeyed-peach fruit flavours. The palate is similar with soft, round, almost sweet fruit flavours, no doubt attributed to the vintage. Still after all that there is freshness and length that keeps you coming back to the glass and finishing the bottle. Stylish and fun to drink now. The wine spends 11 months in 22 percent new French oak sans battonage. The Tribute Series is dedicated to Canadians that have been outstanding in their field. In 2014 Art and Viv Meyer were honoured as parents, grandparents and community workers. 91 Points
To produce the finest quality wines in the traditions of burgundy, we followed certain philosophies, strategies and techniques in production. Each wine reflects the single vineyard of its origin, the soil, the climate, the slope. Hand harvested, hand crafted, with great attention to detail, we take pride in each bottle of wine. Meyer Family Vineyards wines are produced on two main vineyards, the 1.62 hectare Old Main Road vineyard on the Naramata Bench and the 6.9 hectare McLean Creek Road vineyard in Okanagan Falls. - Chris Carson
